Kazakhstan is the second largest country in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), with the huge landmass stretching across three time zones. Sharing borders with Russia in the North and West, Turkmenistan to the Southwest, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the South and China to the East and with long coastlines along the Caspian Sea in the West and the Aral Sea inland.
